The Editor looks for ideas and information that will
help multifamily professionals run their communities
more effectively. This means an emphasis on
"real-world" experience that can be put to use
by professionals in multifamily marketing, management,
training and on-site.
The Multifamily Professional primarily is interested
in publishing original articles that have not appeared
in other publications. Sales & Marketing Magic, not
the author, holds the exclusive copyright to an article
that is published in the Multifamily Professional. Thus,
it is imperative that you inform us if you have
submitted your article to any other publication(s).
If your article has appeared or is scheduled to
appear in another magazine, send a copy of the printed
article and/or letter of acceptance with your
submission. We can then secure that magazine's
permission to reprint your article.
Once your article has been published in the
Multifamily Professional, it may not be reprinted
without our permission. If you would like to have your
article reprinted elsewhere, you must request
permission, in writing, to do so. In most cases such
permission is granted provided the reprinted article is
accompanied by a credit line.
Guidelines
Physical Preparation of
Articles
All articles should be typed, double-spaced and
include the author's name, title and contact
information. Acceptable word processing programs
include Microsoft Word or Rich Text format.
The article should be emailed to the Editor, c/o tsiewruk@smmonline.com
or copied onto a disk and mailed to Sales &
Marketing Magic. When preparing the document,
please do not use special codes, such as boldfacing,
underlining, and varying sizes of type. Please
include a short biography of yourself (and any other
authors) that includes your company, title and
professional background. Main feature articles
should average between 1,200-1,400 words. Columns and
departments should average between 600-750 words.
Graphics
Charts, graphs, diagrams, and color or black &
white photographs help clarify information and add
visual interest to your article. When submitting
artwork, keep the following points in mind:
Photographs should be glossy prints.
Half-tones may also be submitted electronically.
Photos should be saved as a JPEG, EPS or TIFF file
and should be scanned at a minimum of 300dpi.
Head shots of the authors are encouraged.
Be sure that all illustrations and photographs are
clearly labeled with descriptions and any required
credit lines. Do not write directly on the back of
photographs; instead, attach a separate label to the
back or edge of each photo of slide. When sending
electronically, be sure to include credit line
information with original submittal.
Unless specifically requested, artwork will not be
returned.
Editing
All articles accepted for publication will be edited
for style (organization, grammar) and content. The
editor will contact you concerning content changes to
your article. However, edited articles will not be
returned to you prior to publication unless major
alterations have been made. All final decisions on style
and content will be made by the editor.
